Hi! I'm James and I am a wedding photographer based in Epsom, Surrey, specialising in documentary wedding photography across Surrey and London.
I have photographed hundreds of weddings over more than 15 years, and the best photographs usually happen when people are not thinking about the camera.
A nervous glance before the ceremony. Your dad seeing you for the first time. A friend crying with laughter during the speeches. A child asleep under a table. Someone on the dance floor who definitely said they were not going to dance.
Those are the moments I am always looking for.
Most of the day I blend in, watch what is happening and photograph it naturally.
When you need me, I step in.
I will organise the family photographs, guide you through a few relaxed portraits and keep everything moving without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.

I keep portraits relaxed and efficient so you are not disappearing for an hour while everyone else is celebrating.
A short walk, good light and a little direction are usually all we need.
Then you get back to your wedding.

Hate having your photograph taken?
Most couples tell me they feel awkward in front of a camera.
You do not need to know how to pose. I will give you simple direction when it helps and leave you alone when it does not.
The aim is for you to look like yourselves.
The photographs you expect, and the ones you miss
Of course I photograph the ceremony, confetti, speeches, first dance and family groups.
But I am also watching what is happening around you.
A look between grandparents. Someone fixing your veil. Your best friend wiping away a tear. A child stealing cake.
You cannot plan those moments.
You just have to notice them.

A few things couples often ask
Do you photograph group shots?
Yes. I organise them efficiently so they are done properly without dragging on.
What if we feel awkward in front of the camera?
That is completely normal. I will guide you gently and keep everything relaxed.
Will you take us away for lots of portraits?
No. I keep portraits simple and efficient so you can spend more time with your guests.
How quickly will we receive our photographs?
Usually within around two to three weeks.
How many photographs will we receive?
For a full wedding day, you can expect at least 600 carefully edited images.
